Welcome to the Ashworth & Thompson website. These terms and conditions (the “Conditions”) apply to ashworthandthompson.co.uk (the “Website”) which is operated by Ashworth & Thompson, a company registered in England with registered number 1405716, VAT number 309 4572 51 and registered office at Ashworth & Thompson Limited, Freeston Drive, Bulwell, Nottingham, NG6 8UZ. For the purposes of these Conditions, “you” shall be the person accessing the Website and “we” or “us” refers to Ashworth & Thompson. By accessing the Website you agree to accept the Conditions. If you do not agree with the Conditions, you should not use or access the Website.

General Conditions of Use

1. While Ashworth & Thompson takes reasonable steps to ensure a reliable service, we do not guarantee that your use of this Website will be uninterrupted and/or error free.

2. We are not responsible for your use of other websites accessed via links from our Website. Such links are not controlled by us nor do we endorse them.

3. The Website may only be used for lawful purposes and in a lawful manner. You agree to comply with all applicable laws, statutes and regulations regarding the Website and any orders placed on or through it.

4. All rights, including copyright and database rights, contained in this Website are owned by Ashworth & Thompson except as permitted by law, you may not distribute, adapt, translate, modify, merge or make available our Website content to any person, or use it for commercial purposes. You may not use our Website content to create a database (electronic otherwise). All other rights are reserved.

5. We reserve the right to:

  • (i) modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, this Website (or any part thereof) with or without notice to you and you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or
  • (ii) change the Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website (or any part thereof) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether the Conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the Conditions then you must immediately stop using the Website.

You may browse the Website without registering, however you must register as an online customer in order to place an order via our Website. When you register as an online customer, your username will be your valid email address and you will be asked to create a password. You are entirely responsible for all actions taken under your username, whether by you or by any other person. It is your responsibility to keep your username and password safe. When you register as an online customer, you agree that any information which you provide shall be true and accurate in all respects and you will notify us immediately of any changes to this information.

Conditions of Sale

1. Product Descriptions

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible our products. However, as the actual colours you see will depend on your monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product on delivery.

All sizes and measurements are approximate, however we do make every effort to ensure they are as accurate as possible.

We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system.

2. Ordering, Pricing and Payment

This website is not transactional with payment facilities and will only take details of your order requirements.  Due to the requirement to confirm exact measurements, availability and any further detail once you complete your order you will be contacted by one of our experienced Sales Team within 24 hours. Our Sales Team will run through all of your options and take payment over the phone. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, credit/debit card, credit transfer or BACS. We supply trade customers only.

Prices displayed on our Website are in Pounds Sterling and are exclusive of VAT. VAT is currently charged at 20.00% on all orders from within the UK. Prices quoted are also exclusive of postage and packing which will be charged at the rates specified in the delivery section.

Single lengths/split packs are available with a premium picking charge from our Nottingham branch only.

Settlement terms:

2% discount for 10 day payment – nett 30 days. (Not applicable to credit card payments.)

Web Orders:

Minimum amount for all web orders £50.00 before VAT and carriage. A packing tube may be required to protect small orders for narrow mouldings – £5.50.

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that prices are accurate, due to currency fluctuations, errors, and costs beyond our control, prices may be subject to revision without prior notice and will be advised when confirming your order by telephone prior to payment being taken.  All items are offered subject to availability and goods will be invoiced at the price ruling on the day of sale.  All goods remain our property until all outstanding invoices have been paid in full.  VAT is chargeable at the current rate, discount deducted.

3. Discount Codes

Only one promotional code/voucher for discounts or free delivery via the website may be used per order unless stated otherwise. Promotional codes/vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, offer or voucher. Promotional codes/vouchers are not transferable and should not be distributed to the wider public, they should not be sold on auction sites for profit or reproduced on any website. No cash or any other alternative can be given. We reserve the right to remove or amend conditions of promotional codes/vouchers as necessary, this does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Promotional codes/vouchers for free delivery apply to the standard UK delivery service only.

4. Delivery

UK MAINLAND

UK Mainland orders over £150 – FREE STANDARD DELIVERY
UK Standard Mainland – £10.50 (48hr Delivery*)
Next Day Delivery – £12.50
(on orders placed before 11.30am*)

**A Residential Address delivery surcharge  of £6.50 may be applicable depending on location.

*All delivery timescales quoted are once payment has been made in full.

For larger orders, carriage chargeable on application.

Samples – small sample requests are free of charge within UK

OVERSEAS

Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Scottish Offshore, Rest of World – Minimum £35.00

We charge a minimum charge of £35 to ship overseas, however final charges will be finalised with you, depending on the content of your order and delivery destination requirements.

Damage/shortage: any claim for damage or shortage should be made within 7 days of receipt.  Goods returned for reasons other than damage will be subject to a restocking charge.

Please be sure to sign for ‘goods as damaged’ if you notice any damage to our packaging on arrival of your delivery.

5. Returns

If you wish to exchange or return any products bought via our website please contact our Sales Team on 0115 927 8504.

A re stocking charge of 15% may be deducted from refunds if goods were ordered by customers error.

Please note that the customer is responsible for all postage costs incurred when returning products. Ashworth & Thompson will not offer a refund on returned products, which are lost or damaged in the post. We strongly recommend that products are returned using registered post and that you keep your proof of posting certificate.

Please Note: Refunds can take up to 28 days to process.

Any goods returned must be in the condition and state as delivered.

6. Back Orders

If any items on your order are out of stock, we will contact you upon their return to stock, to see if you still require them.  Back orders are carriage paid over the value of £85.  Below this a £8.00 charge applies.  A minimum of 20 sheets of mountboard is required before despatch.

7. General

We shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver products you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control including, without limitation, strikes, lock-outs and other industrial disputes, breakdown of systems or network access, flood, fire, explosion or accident.

We reserve the right to change our privacy policy, whilst of course keeping it within all relevant legislation and guidelines. We will do all we can to ensure that these pages show the most up to date information at all times, and may notify you of such changes by uploading the revised privacy policy.
